ADOPT A CHILD THIS CHRISTMAS

Change for 2007: We can only handle companies and groups

* * * IMPORTANT: Because of time constraints we will not be able to accomodate Individual donors. We will only be able to handle groups and companies. We know that Adopt a Child has become a part of the Christmas season for so many and we regret this course of action. We hope you understand. If you would like you can call DYFS directly to get the name of a child. The number is (973) 523-6090 ext 354.

Over the last 12 years The Faith Foundations Adopt A Child program has arranged for over 66,000 gifts to be distributed to better than 17,400 children in Passaic County.

Now in our 13th year we still need your help and support in providing gifts for abused.  The children are in this program through no fault of their own, but through a set of circumstances. Some of these children have been abused sexually, physically or are from substance abuse homes. Many of these children are in foster care, but some are still living with their natural parents. In many cases, these children face a pretty grim Christmas without your intervention or “adoption”. Obviously this is not a permanent adoption. It is just for the gift-giving season. You don’t meet the child (or children) in question. You’ll just be asked to provide a Christmas holiday the child won’t soon forget. You can make a difference.

“Adopt a Child” is a program that provides NEW gifts to these children for the holidays. In many cases, your gift will be the ONLY gift they receive.

When “adopting” you will be given information on:

  • The child’s age
  • Their gender
  • Their race
  • The gift he/she would most like to receive including their clothing size if necessary.

You will not be able to contact the child directly but will be able to include a card in their gift to let them know you care.

If life has been good to you this past year, why not share your good fortune? This holiday, regardless of your beliefs or degree of devotion, belongs to children. Unfortunately, the majority of those on the short end of the financial spectrum are children who are pretty much powerless and dependent on the good will of others. You can become a light in a dark world! Please consider Adopting a Child this Christmas.

SUGGESTION: Instead of an office grab bag this holiday, why not “Adopt A Child” as an alternative? Children are so much more fun to shop for!
